"Interrogations at the BioInterface" Advanced Summer School

The IBEC/INEB/IPATIMUP "Interrogations at the BioInterface" Advanced Summer School, the third in an ongoing series, this year will focus on the topic of "The inflammation/repair interface". It will take place in Porto on 25th-28th June 2013 and will be hosted by INEB and IPATIMUP.

The inflammation – repair interplay has been raising considerable interest in recent years. Regulation of this crosstalk is crucial in maintaining homeostasis without pathology and novel therapeutic strategies can take advantage of a better knowledge on what regulates this balance. In this edition of our Summer School we will bring closer immunologists with tissue regeneration and biomaterial scientists to discuss what is becoming an exciting and stimulating new interdisciplinary area of research.

The Advanced Summer School is open to PhD students and scientists interested in biomedical engineering approaches to stem cell research and regenerative medicine. This course will have duration of four days, with lab sessions being held during the first day and lectures in the last three days. Lectures will take place in a very informal environment, and participants will be encouraged to bring questions that may contribute to the advancement of knowledge through integrative approaches.

When: Tuesday 25th to Friday 28th June 2013
Where: Biblioteca Almeida Garrett/IBMC-INEB/IPATIMUP, Porto, Portugal
