Don't forget that tomorrow (Friday 11th May) is the abstract submission deadline for posters for IBEC’s fifth annual symposium on Bioengineering and Nanomedicine, which will be held at Barcelona's AXA Auditorium on 11th June 2011.

IBEC Senior Researcher Eduard Torrents participated in a conference to mark the  National Day for Cystic Fibrosis last Wednesday 25 April.  This event, which took place at the Spanish Society of Pneumology and Thoracic Surgery (SEPAR), also included the official presentation of funds from the Associació Catalana de Fibrosis Quística (Catalan Association of Cystic Fibrosis) to research groups specializing in the disease.

On 24-26 April, La Pedrera will hold the tenth edition of the annual "Recerca en directe" science fair, and IBEC's Robotics research group will take part in it with the activity 'Relating to Robots', where participants will be able to perform a teleoperation with a robot and to control a robotic hand by contracting their own muscles.
