Postdoctoral researcher at the IMEM Research Group

Application Deadline: 10/12/2019
Ref: PD-CA

The IMEM Group at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher with broad experience in (Bio)Materials, Nanotechnology and Polymers/Biopolymers to develop a project on the development of (bio)polymeric materials for biomedical applications. The contract will be within the framework of IMEM-BRT research lines, whose objective is the development of new materials for regenerative therapies.
Specifically, the project involves the study of hydrogels as versatile platforms for specific (bio)applications using new chemistries, cell-friendly polymers (biopolymers and degradable synthetic polymers) and advanced manufacturing technologies. The research will involve three different areas that derive from the function, features, and source of hydrogels and, consequently, will require a wide range of skills (as per below).

Ref:PhD-JS

The Nanobioengineering group at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is looking for a Predoctoral researcher.

We offer an interesting and challenging job in an international and interdisciplinary environment. We encourage suitably qualified candidates to apply for a position funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie project “EVIDENCE” within the Horizon 2020 programme of the European Union, starting on January 2020. The appointment will be on a temporary basis for a maximum period of 3 years (PhD student) and will be placed at the Nanobioengineering group of IBEC (Barcelona, Spain).

EVIDENCE is a four-year project, funded by the European Union Horizon 2020 Programme (MSCA-ITN-2019) under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Initial Training Network and Grant Agreement No. 860436. EVIDENCE is the exploration of the properties and behaviour of RBCs under flow conditions and in vivo to understand pathophysiology and to design novel diagnostic devices. EVIDENCE engaged in with the ambition to educate and train students within and across different scientific disciplines: biophysics (electrophysiology), biochemistry (membrane biology, metabolism), biomedical science (e.g., expansion and differentiation of erythroblasts), bioengineering and cell biology (organ on a chip), clinical research and diagnostics, with SME.

Postdoctoral researcher at the Bioengineering in Reproductive Health Open Lab

Application Deadline: 20/10/2019
Ref: PD-SO

The Bioengineering in reproductive health group at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is looking for a Postdoctoral researcher with experience in cell biology, stem cell technology and 3D culture. The project involves creating 3D organoids that mimic the endometrium (uterus tissue) to model the process of embryonic implantation in vitro.
Our laboratory is a multidisciplinary environment where biologists, biophysicists, clinicians and business developers synergize to create a unique environment shaped by science and entrepreneurship. Due to the high translational component of our research, we have established collaboration contracts with the pharma industry, hospitals and venture capital to bring our technology to the clinics and the market.
