In their bulletin for February, the  Spanish Association of Biotechnology Companies (ASEBIO) published an editorial by the president of their scientific committee Emilio Muñoz, about the impact of bionanotechnology in Spain and guidelines for the future.

In the article, he refers to the existence of IBEC, CIBER-BBN and NanoMedSpain as a “good reflection of the policy on advancing bionanotechnology in Spain” and says they are important “reference tools” for the sector. Outlining current research in lab-on-a-chip technology, regenerative medicine and the development of new drug delivery systems, he also mentions the use of nanotechnology by IBEC’s Integrative Cell and Tissue Dynamics group for the study of cell migration and its impact on disease processes.
