Elena Martínez leads the project together with the Vall d’Hebron Institut d’Oncologia (VHIO) and the International Iberian Laboratory of Nanotechnology (Portugal), funded by the “La Caixa” Foundation, to develop models of three-dimensional tissues that mimic the tissue in the human body, called organs on a chip. These models are obtained by 3D bioprinting.

It greatly influences the cellular environment, how the cell proliferates and survives in tissue.
