The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia participates in a roundtable on international collaboration in the field of biotechnology, as one of the main players in research and innovation applied to health.
Last September 9th, IBEC Director, Josep Samitier, participated in a webinar and roundtable where innovation and business opportunities between institutions in Spain and Belgium in the field of biotechnology were discussed. Also companies such as Monoryx Therapeutics, an example of good collaborative practices in the field of biotechnology among both countries, participated in the event. The meeting was also attended by representatives of cluster BioWin, regional reference player in Valonia in the field of health focused mainly in biotechnology and medical technologies.
All these pioneering institutions stand out for their straight collaboration and transference with companies and hospitals for the testing of solutions for the improvement of life quality of the patients and accelerate the efficiency of treatments and drugs.
The meeting was organized by Embassy of Spain in Belgium, the Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain in Belgium and Luxembourg, with the collaboration of the Centre for the Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) and the Spanish Science and Technology Office (SOST). This was the second event in the Spain Innovation programme, whose main objective is to promote the collaboration of Spanish companies with local companies for the development of projects in Belgium and Luxembourg.
